How does your men's team help you live a better life? In other words ... what keeps you coming back week over week?

The men of my team know what’s going on in my life and support me by giving me different perspectives that help me to make better decisions and they hold me accountable to complete any actions those decisions may require.

Why did you join MDI?

It seemed like a place to find and connect with trustworthy men

Is there any special moment or story about your men's team and MDI that stands out to you, that makes you smile proudly?

I was part of a “canoe” tug of war with a man I didn’t know. We were clearly older than our competition and that put us at a disadvantage at first to the extent of being within a canoe length of losing. Then we dug deep into the water with me screaming my full head off yelling “Stroke, stroke, stroke……” The tide turned and we made headway. My arm muscles were screaming back at me as we slowly inched our way to our shore. We won the competition! Better yet. we accomplished this with the other man’s 12 year old son as one of the spectators. To be part of that young man’s pride in his dad made the win so much sweeter.

Is there an area in your life, that you've completely transformed with your men's team?

I came as an angry soon to be divorced man ending a 25 year relationship. Today, I have let go of the anger, got a healthier perspective on long term committed relationship, and with that attracted an exceptional woman who is endlessly supportive of me. I believe that I am at the happiest point in my life.

What would you say to a new man who is considering joining an MDI men's team?

This is a group of good men who are up to good things in their lives
