If a barrier is big enough, those believing in their own bullshit may want the option of implementing what is known as “an excuse.” Sometimes there are reasons we break our word and don’t do things we say we will do: a death, a family emergency. But then there are the official BS excuses … which allow for the commitment to go meaningless and the barrier to remain all powerful. Sad, but true. Let us ponder…

To help with anyone needing an excuse to remain stuck and on THIS SIDE of a barrier, here is a top 20 list from which to choose.

  1. “It’s not my fault.”
  2. “It’s because of my past, my wife, my work schedule … my ____________ (fill in the blank).
  3. “Not enough time.”
  4. “Not enough money.”
  5. “Things change.”
  6. “I was just following the flow of life.”
  7. “It must have not been in the stars … the Universe is Perfect – I guess God didn’t want it to be since it didn’t happen.”
  8. “Life is all an illusion anyway.”
  9. “Nobody is perfect.”
  10. “My car had problems.”
  11. “There was too much traffic.”
  12. “My cell phone died.”
  13. “I had no control over it.”
  14. “I had a higher priority.”
  15. “That would have sold out my kids, and I can’t do that.”
  16. “I wasn’t feeling well, and didn’t want to get anyone else sick.”
  17. “I was too busy.”
  18. “My dog ate it … whatever it is.”
  19. “An alien space ship abducted me for some time.”
  20.  “What is honor?”
