Men, I’m excited to announce that MDI’s first podcast is officially underway!!
We’re off to the races. The ship has set sail. We’ve cleared the launch pad….okay, that pretty much exhausts my supply of launch metaphors. You get the picture.
After meeting for the first time only two months ago, Scott Schoen, Jonathan Lake, Jim Lawrence, Jonathan Lane, and I sat down and recorded the first few episodes of the “Yet-to-Be-Named Masculine Podcast.”
And who knows? Maybe that’s the name.
In our first recording session, we talked about our individual journeys toward mature masculinity and shared some mask-off stories about leadership, relationships, personal growth, mistakes, breakthroughs, and other things we’ve learned along the way…with a healthy sprinkling of humor thrown in.
In the coming months we’ll dig deeper into these topics and more, along with more than a few funny stories that shouldn’t be forgotten. We’ll also bring in guests from within and without MDI who have stories, experiences, and lessons worth sharing.
And we plan on having a hell of a lot of fun doing it.
Meanwhile, this is our first time out of the gate, and we’re learning as we go. We fully expect the overall quality to improve with every podcast. But we’ve already done the most important thing:
We’ve started.
Every man involved played a crucial role in making that happen, so a big thank you! goes out to Scott, Jim, and the two Jonathans. We would not have completed this first recording without every one of these men showing up and giving their time—especially early on a Sunday morning.
The first pods are in post-production and we’ll soon announce when the finished episodes are up on YouTube. They will also be in the October Legacy Magazine… watch this space!
We intend these podcasts to be something MDI men enjoy and are proud to share. But there’s a bigger purpose behind this: we also want it to reach men who have never heard of MDI. Men who may be looking for stronger relationships, better leadership, greater purpose, or simply a group of men willing to have real conversations without the masks.
If these pods help men discover MDI then we’ve accomplished something much bigger than simply putting another podcast on YouTube. And we need your stories.
If you, or a man you know, has a story or topic worthy of a podcast, we want to hear about it. Send it to: media@mdimen.org or reach out to any of the men listed above.
Men, the podcast train has officially left the station. Okay… now I’m done with the launch metaphors. This is gonna be fun!
In service,
Tager
